WordPress Parent Company Automattic Acquires WooCommerce Creator WooThemes
Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.com, is acquiring WooThemes, the creator of the popular WordPress ecommerce plugin, WooCommerce. While the company hasn’t disclosed the financial details, Re/code is reporting that Automattic will pay $30 million in cash and stock to acquire WooThemes, making it its largest acquisition to date. Google’s Wholesale Move To Cloud and Take On Security Makes Cloud Apps Enterprise-Friendly
Google is moving all of its internal corporate applications to a cloud model, reports The Wall Street Journal. So far, 90 percent of Google’s corporate applications have migrated. Researchers Find Vulnerability in WordPress Shopping Cart Plugin eShop
Another vulnerability has been found in a WordPress plug-in, this one an arbitrary variable overwrite, which was publicly disclosed Wednesday by High-Tech Bridge Security Research Lab. The eShop WordPress Plugin version 6.3.11 was discovered on April 15 to have insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the “eshopcart” HTTP cookie. Continue reading
