WordPress Parent Company Automattic Acquires WooCommerce Creator WooThemes
Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.com, is acquiring WooThemes, the creator of the popular WordPress ecommerce plugin, WooCommerce. While the company hasn’t disclosed the financial details, Re/code is reporting that Automattic will pay $30 million in cash and stock to acquire WooThemes, making it its largest acquisition to date.
