Lenovo to Buy IBM’s x86 Server Business for $2.3 Billion
Lenovo plans to acquire IBM’s x86 server business for $2.3 billion, the companies said today. With the deal, Lenovo gets IBM’s System x, BladeCenter and Flex System blade servers and switches, NeXtScale and iDataPlex servers. IBM will keep its System z mainframes, Power Systems, Storage Systems, Power-based Flex servers, and PureApplication and PureData appliances. Continue reading
