How do I create a form that the customer can choose attributes?

How do I create a form on my Index page so that the customer can choose by certain attributes, and then there will be results that populate based on that. For example, let’s say I was creating a website, so that the customer will be able to search by area, and cuisine. Then based on the what he chooses he would be brought to my other page which would populate another page with would allow the customer to select areas, or cusiines, and then based on that there would be results.
