Email account creation problems

Hi has anyone had this problem? in Cpanel when I try and create an email account I get the error message ‘ no such directory exists’ I have tried to get help but all I get back is the instructions on how to do it, which I have tried about 30 times! I don’t think Vodahost appreciate that I can’t get this simple part done first. Do I need to perhaps create the account in Outlook express first and then go back to Cpanel
