2017’s Record HIPAA Breach Pace Points to Growing Hacker Threat

A 66 percent year-over-year increase in breaches involving more than 500 people is being driven by a sharp rise in the number of incidents designated as “Hacking/IT Incident,” which are up 82 percent, to 104 this year.
