Cloud Providers Could Face Scrutiny as Europe’s Privacy Watchdog Calls for Stronger Data Protection
The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) will soon decide what extra checks are necessary for cloud services under contract to EU institutions. US House Moves to Ban Internet Access Taxes
Internet access taxes may be permanently banned in the US after the House of Representatives passed the Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act on Tuesday. The bill, H.R. 3086, was passed with bipartisan support and cosponsors from both parties, though some democrats voted against it. Continue reading

The Changing Perception of AWS in the Web Hosting Industry
As a cloud veteran it has been interesting to watch the evolving perception of larger vendors in the hosting industry. I am continually inspired by the many successful business stories that are shared at HostingCon. These businesses really understand their market and support their customers well. However, I am equally surprised by parts of the industry that ignore the rise of the large vendors often due to outdated perceptions or misunderstandings. Continue reading
